Root canal therapy may be required to resolve problems relating to nerves and tissue, or 'pulp' within the core of the tooth root. Often decay or infection may exist in the root which, if left un-treated, will require complete removal of the tooth.

Typically pulp within the root can become diseased or injured by a cavity the extends deep within the tooth, or through some sort of breach such as a cracked tooth.

A restored tooth can easily last a lifetime, and is a highly successful solution with diligent care of teeth and gums.

Some typical signs that might mean you require treatment include some or all of the following, although sometimes no symptoms are present at all:

• Temperature sensitivity.
• Toothache.
• Tenderness and swelling.

Dr. Molinar will ensure your comfort by numbing the tooth and surrounding areas, and then, through the use of precise dental technology, remove the infected tissue from within the root. The canals of the tooth are then filled with a permanent material to prevent new infection or contamination.

The top of the tooth is then fitted with a crown, thereby fully restoring the tooth and putting it back in service.
