Carlsbad dental Implants - 7 Benefits to getting it done

I received a desperate call from a person who had an toothache, so bad that they had been up all night taking ibuprofen and nothing was taking away the pain. I met them at the office, looked in their mouth, saw the tooth that was partially there and took an x-ray. It was obvious from what I saw and the x-ray that this tooth needed to be removed to alleviate the pain. I explained that the broken tooth needed to come out and then gave some options as to what procedure to fill the gap with. The choices were: bridge, partial, or an implant.
In cases like this one, here are seven reasons why an IMPLANT is the best choice
- Preserves bone (you lose bone and ridge shrinks when there is no tooth present and being used)
- Does not require other teeth to be worked on like a bridge does to secure itself to the adjacent teeth
- Is less expensive than a bridge to replace if it breaks in future because it is only one crown not three or more like a bridge
- Looks better in long run due to bone loss where tooth came out even when a bridge is used bone resorption will happen
- Easier to floss or clean than a bridge
- Most like the natural tooth that it is replacing
- Not removable like a partial would be
Luckily for this patient an implant was chosen, which was a sound choice for them.
